Getting out of my own way

So!
I've been in my own way. So pathetic. so true. Little bumps & obstacles got the better of me and I allowed myself to get distracted by shiny things (very barracuda of me). It reminds me of that great quote by Randy Pausch: The brick walls are there for a reason. The brick walls are not there to keep us out; the brick walls are there to give us a chance to show how badly we want something. The brick walls are there to stop the people who don't want it badly enough.

But, I'm back. The background details have been quelled and satisfied and I am officially out of my own way. It's all yoga. All the time. I knew this was a lesson- but we are all so good at self talking ourselves into corners and ruts.

The bus is purple, the roof is white ( a trick we just recently picked up from the south to keep it cooler in the summer- file under: what took us so long to realize that one?) The seats are gone and the floors will be placed next week.

There is this amazing/scary aspect to doing this all by yourself. Especially when people ask you that ever- present- invasive -question "what to you do?" I realized many years ago that telling people that I pretty much do weird projects in my room and write a lot of poems isn't the answer they seek- so thank goodness for this yoga life! I am so lucky that I get to teach & practice & teach & practice...

This project has given me this gifted albeit always nerve wracking interaction- of first telling someone what I'm up to. It goes like this:

I tell them. There's silence. I think 'oh my goodness can I just pull my words back- there is no way this person will get what I am scheming with this yoga studio on wheels project, this is just one of my absurdo ideas that only 10% of the population gets & grasps' and then like magic- they smile and tell me how cool it is- or what a great idea it is- insert compliment here, It happens every time- and every time it affects me the same awesome way.

So, yeah, moving forward. Literally. Yay!
