The Yoga School Bus is a 77 person school bus that has been converted into a yoga studio on wheels.
Yoga is only practiced in the bus when it's parked.
The mission of the Yoga School Bus is to provide a safe space for children and adults to practice meditation and yoga.
Part of the appeal of this project is it's ability to turn the world upside down for a child (mindfully & physically) taking a universal symbol of transportation and transforming it into a novelty. Bringing a bit of magic into a child's life while it provides them with the lessons of yoga and meditation to learn how to 'feel good' within themselves.
The Yoga School Bus is embarking on it's first cross country tour. The mission is to bring yoga to underserved communities where yoga is not practiced around every corner. There will be various stops. Some affiliated, some random, full of yoga instruction & plenty of fun.

The success and reach of this project is contingent on the contributions and generous donations of our sponsors- the possibility & impact of this journey is endless for all involved. All funds go towards keeping the bus moving forward.

why yoga school bus?
2 reasons! For the last 4 years I was teaching yoga and meditation to inner city kids. We had so much fun. A labor of love for sure! We all thrived in the safe space (of the class room or gym) that we cultivated together. Social groups, insecurities & trying to be or look cool went out the window during class...But once they left the room to get a drink of water or go get something from their locker, I lost them. I lost the sweetness, the softness and the genuine contentment they were re-discovering within themselves (it was always there). We sat and talked one day after svasana (final resting pose) and they were real receptive to this idea of a yoga school bus. They loved it.
And now a tale from long ago: my dad had a friend in the 80's who converted a school bus into a camper. It was pink & he had a lazy boy reclining chair for a drivers seat. Blew my mind & I've never been the same :)
